Books for children from second-hand.

When I've already known what kind of books my son likes, I went to the second hand shop.

I always loved to see children's books. The best are those that like to see children and parents. One of my dreams is to be an illustrator of children's books - maybe one day {for now I draw and hide these drawings in a drawer}.

I paid for these three books £ 3. The new you have to pay about for these three books £ 20, so it is worth checking the second hand shop.

My favorite, also my son - The Very Clever Crocodile by Jack Tickle {see here}

Piranhas - My son's favourite parts of the book.

Crocodile - My husband's favourite.

Warthog - My favourite.

The second book is quite enjoyable - Little Puppy. The big advantage of this book is that it is very strong and I don't have to fear that my son something breaks off.

The third book in my opinion is for older kids, but a lot of fun and mess - Magnetic Let's Play Trains {here}.

You might want to look for used books for children, but it isn't like buying a new ;-)

{DIY} Neck Purse of felt.

Welcome to the New Year! This is my first post in this year. I hope you will like it.
Photography has always been my passion. It started when digital cameras were not yet in Europe, and may have been in the phase of experimentation  ;-) - I prefer not to go into how long ago it was.
From sentiment to my dad's old camera I made this Neck Purse.

level: ★☆☆☆☆
Neck Purse is not difficult to make. We do not need a sewing machine. Only hand sewing skills {insert the needle, drag the thread}. I think as you activate the points of driving the needle, it can be quite a fun for 5-6 year olds and older.

We will need:
  •      colored felt (not too thick)
  •      scissors
  •      needle
  •      colored embroidery floss
  •      ribbon
  •      little snap button
  •      paper
  •      pencil

Cut out the template of paper fastened with pins to be felt and cut out.

So cut out the template sequence sew. We start from the elements visible in the foreground. Then sew the back and a ribbon. I due to the safety of my son I cut the ribbon in half and sewed there easily unbuttoned the snap button.

What do you think - easy?

Have a nice day!

Something for kids on a cold day {2 in 1 Tube Scarf or Hat}.

In Scotland  autumn always is rainy, if it is not raining, you'll be sure that soon starts rain. I can say that there is no winter without rain, although the Old Scots say that this time it will be snow ;-)
But right now, it's raining and I have to learn to live with it. {every day I repeat: "I love rain" until I believe it ;-)}

Rainy weather inspired me to sew a warm and cozy hat or scarf 2 in 1 -
How do you prefer?
Rain clouds on the cap are more optimistic than the weather outside
And what do you think?

Fabric Cubby House. Welcome to my little house.

I really enjoyed working on this project. I finished it late and wanted to have it on the table for when the kid woke up. He LOVES it!!  Kai is quite content just sitting inside and watching everyone through the little window.

I saw the idea a while ago in web. I tucked it in the back of my mind. When I saw that my son begins to hide in the closet and he plays there and I had a burst of enthusiasm to make one for him. I wanted to build a house of cardboard {see here and here} but I didn’t have any place enough in our house.

You need a few sheets of fabric and a couple of hours sewing and an ordinary table becomes a fort, or a little shop, or a cave or whatever!

The priceless joy of a child!

Coffee break at work. Ideas are born everywhere.

Friday at work.
Time to break boring.
Break was boring until  I remembered something. When I was a little girl, my father taught me how to make origami ship.  I can do it with my eyes closed.

What do you need to build  fleet ships?

A few rectangular piece of paper. (I've used the old paper tickets because I found it the work).
Colored cards.
Crayons.
Lots of ideas for fun.
My fleet ships are looking for treasures.
The best fun with your children - not with colleagues ;-)

A simple-to-make Origami ship made from paper.

Have fun!
